With five 3.5″ SATA drive bays supporting SATA III 6 Gb/s and SATA II 3 Gb/s drives, this device ensures high compatibility and performance. Using separately sold drive carriers, the 5C also supports 2.5″ hard drives and SSDs, offering flexibility in storage options.

Data Protection and Expansion

The Drobo 5C utilizes BeyondRAID technology to enable single or dual-drive redundancy, ensuring your data is secure. If there are empty drive bays, you can add more drives, and BeyondRAID will automatically configure them. If all bays are occupied, simply replace the smallest capacity drive with a larger one, and BeyondRAID will handle the rest. This technology also allows drives of varying capacities to work together, making future expansion easier as larger drives become available.

Additional Features and Warranty

The included rechargeable battery protects data in the event of a sudden power loss by allowing the cached data to be written to an internal SSD. The 120mm variable-speed fan provides cooling, and the hard drives can be configured to spin down when not in use to reduce noise and energy consumption. The LEDs can also be dimmed to minimize light pollution. The Drobo 5C is backed by a limited 1-year warranty in the US or outside the EU, or a limited 2-year warranty within the EU, along with 90 days of business hour tech support. You can extend the warranty up to 5 years with DroboCare warranty renewals.
